If you connect the unit to a PC/Mac or mobile device with MIDI software installed, via a USB cable, you can use the unit to control DJ software.
•To play tracks stored on a PC (Windows) with the unit, install the dedicated audio driver software. If you use a Mac, you don’t need to install the dedicated audio driver software.
•For details on the unit’s MIDI messages, visit the URL below.
•Install DJ software and configure the audio and MIDI settings on a PC/Mac or mobile device beforehand.
•If you use rekordbox for Mac/Windows, rekordbox for iOS, Serato DJ Lite, Algoriddim djay, or Algoriddim djay Pro, you don’t need to configure MIDI settings.
•For details on rekordbox, refer to the following.
•It’s recommended to connect this unit and a PC/Mac or mobile device directly with a USB cable. When using a USB hub, use a product recommended by the manufacturer of your device. We don’t guarantee the operation of all USB hubs.
•You can connect an iPhone/iPad that has a USB Type-C port.
•DJing via USB cable connection is only supported for iOS.
1Connect a PC/Mac or mobile device to the unit.
2Touch [SOURCE] on the title/status bar.
The [SOURCE] screen appears.
3Touch [SOFTWARE CONTROL].
The [SOFTWARE CONTROL] screen appears.
4Touch [LOAD 1] or [LOAD 2].
The deck on which you touch the button switches to control mode.
5Launch the DJ software.
The unit starts communication with the DJ software.
•Some buttons on the unit can’t be used for controlling a DJ application.
•Control mode turns off when a track is loaded to the unit from a device other than the currently communicating device that’s running the DJ software.
rekordbox control functions
■Changing pad mode
If you use the unit with a PC/Mac running rekordbox for Mac/Windows or a mobile device running rekordbox for iOS connected via a USB cable, you can switch functions assigned to the [HOT CUE (A to H)] buttons.
1On the waveform screen, touch [PAD MODE] for the deck you want to switch button functions for.

•You can choose a pad mode from the following 8 types.

•Some functions, such as waveform and browsing functionality, are limited when the unit is connected via a USB cable to a mobile device running rekordbox for iOS compared to rekordbox for Mac/Windows. Be sure to use the screen of the unit for choosing a pad mode, and use the screen of the mobile device to view DJ information while DJing.
